An association founded in Lugano in 2024 to teach martial arts to everyone: against bullying, towards competition, or simply to feel better.
Who we are
EqualArmor is a non-profit association founded in Lugano in 2024. We teach combat sports, yoga and meditation to kids and adults, in the same room, with the same coaches.
The purpose is written in our statute: to teach martial arts also as a tool against bullying, and to prepare amateur and competitive athletes for local and international competitions.
The name says the rest. Equal: everyone trains on the same mat, barefoot, without distinctions. Armor: protection, discipline, the ability to defend yourself and to not have to.
Two words, one method
Equal
The same mat for the beginner and the competitor, for the five-year-old and the adult. The rules apply to everyone; technique is built with patience.
Armor
Armor is not aggression: it is knowing where you are, staying calm, protecting yourself and the people near you. That is what we carry out of the room.
The room
A mat, the bag, space for wrestling and for yoga. Viale dei Faggi 9, in Cassarate.
Mat rules
You train barefoot on the mat, in sportswear. Nothing with zips, buttons or metal parts: they scratch the mat and can hurt the person training with you.
What to bring
- Comfortable sportswear, shorts are fine — no zips
- A water bottle
- A small towel
- Training is barefoot on the mat — flip-flops for the changing room
- No jewellery or watches
- A mouthguard for sparring
